At Liquid Trucking, we take pride in bringing the best people on board—not just behind the wheel, but in every role that keeps our company running. Our newest recruiter, Jake Debo, is no exception. With a diverse background spanning sports management, advertising, and staffing, Jake brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to our hiring team. We sat down with him to learn more about his journey, why he joined Liquid Trucking, and what he’s looking forward to in his new role.
The Road to Liquid Trucking
Jake’s career path has been anything but ordinary. He started in Sports Management, working as the director of multiple departments for The Sioux City Musketeers. His role involved everything from marketing and promotions to community outreach and operations. The fast-paced, high-energy world of professional sports gave him invaluable experience in organization, teamwork, and communication. He thrived in the environment but eventually felt the pull toward a new challenge—advertising.
Jake took a leap into the advertising world, joining a well-known agency in Omaha, where he worked with a variety of clients. His time there taught him a lot about branding, strategic communication, and the power of digital marketing. However, he quickly realized that the work-life balance was tough to maintain, and the high-pressure environment wasn’t a good long-term fit for him.
From there, Jake transitioned into recruiting, taking a position at TransWood, a trucking company. He discovered a passion for helping people find meaningful work, but really longed to find a place where he could really make an impact in an environment where people want to stay and grow. That’s what led him to Liquid Trucking.

In his new role, Jake focuses on streamlining the recruiting process. With a steady stream of applications, his goal is to not only fill positions but to find candidates who truly fit within the company culture. Rather than just checking boxes on a resume, Jake evaluates personality, work ethic, and long-term potential. Jake’s extensive background in advertising, staffing, and recruiting gives him a unique edge in his new role. As he settles into his new role, Jake is looking forward to helping Liquid Trucking grow while ensuring that every new hire is set up for success.
A Look at Life Outside Work
Originally from St. Louis, Jake moved to Omaha to attend Creighton University and has since made it his home. When he’s not busy recruiting top talent, he enjoys life in Omaha with his fiancée, Morgan, an OR nurse at Children’s Nebraska, and their dog, Arlo. Jake is excited about purchasing a home and embracing all the joys (and challenges) of homeownership—including yard work!
A dedicated sports fan, he never misses a Creighton Men’s Basketball game or a St. Louis Blues Hockey game and loves spending his free time hiking and golfing.
